How to catch all the different species Hanoi has to offer

With such a wide variety of fish to target, knowing how to fish for each one can be quite daunting. But over the years we have narrowed down the best tactics, Lures and retrieves to ensure you catch every specimen you are after.

Striped Snakehead:

By far the most sought after and popular snakehead species in vietnam, These fish can be caught on almost every lure, yet they prefer slow moving topwater frogs, jumpfrogs, sinking frogs, soft plastics or vibration lures

Wallago Catfish:

Is one of the most aggressive catfish species found in vietnam. Being famaliy of the Wels means that this fish loves to blow up on topwater lures. Poppers, Spooks and topwater frogs are the best lures for them. Very slow action and pops, or pop and pause is the most effictive method of targeting them

Pacu:

Often refered to as the GT’s of the lake, these monstrously strong omnivorous fish, sporting human-like teeth and blazing run speeds can most frequently be caught on vibration lures, crankbaits, topwater frogs and sinking frogs

Black Carp:

Black carp are Omivorous by nature mostly feeding on snails and plant material. Growing up to sizes exceeding 50kg means they eat vigorously throughout their lives. Small soft plastics and Sinking frogs are the best way to target these freshwater behemoths

There are a variety of different fish in each lake ranging from redbreast tilapia and skygazers, to baramundi and peacock bass. Each lake has a different ecosystem and allows the angler full freedom to try and catch as many as is possible in a single day
